Selling Your Caravan
Selling your caravan can be a daunting experience, and you have 3 options.
Option 1: Sell The Caravan Back To The Park
Selling your caravan or lodge back to the park you are on may well be seen as an easy and quick option, however, be mindful that the park will offer you the lowest price possible. Also be aware that you may have kept your caravan in an immaculate condition, however the only detail a park is really interested in is how old the caravan or lodge is.
Option 2: Sell The Caravan To A Dealer
Selling your caravan to a Caravan Trader is a simple process. You find out what traders are in your area, contact them and someone will arrange to come and view your caravan with the view to removing it from the Park. Usually a Caravan Trader will offer a better price than the Park.
Option 3: Sell Your Caravan Privately On The Park
Selling your Caravan privately is more time consuming than option 1 or 2, as you have to advertise your caravan for example in a newspaper or on a website. Often selling in this way you can get a better price, but remember that people who are attracted to your caravan may want to meet you to view your caravan(an alternative way to showcase your caravan is by using our "virtual show ground" feature ). If they like the caravan they might offer you a price which is below the asking price. Bear in mind that when you sell privately you will have to pay the Park a 15% commission + Vat. For example: If a member of the public offers you £10,000 for the caravan, you will have to pay the park £1,500 commission plus £300 VAT. Therefore in total you will pay the Park £1,800 plus any gas tests or electric tests which need to be done. These average around £55.00 each. From the initial offer of £10,000 you will walk away with £8,090.
Should you want or need more advice on this do not hesitate to call us. We offer options and solutions to make the selling process far more easier and less time consuming.
